Police said the altercation between two groups of men began around 5:45 a.m. inside the Chemistry Lounge in the 8900 block of Clarkcrest Street and later spilled outside. A shootout erupted as one group in a car drove past the other group's car in the parking lot. The disputing groups and the lounge's security staff were all involved. Samuel Green and Chandler Fields, both 25, were shot by the club's security. The pair continued driving to a nearby hospital where Green died, police said.
Last week, the lounge was permanently shut down after the Harris County District Attorney's Office won a temporary restraining order against the owners for violating the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code by selling alcohol after hours and without a permit.
According to a report from ABC13, Assistant District Attorney Sean Teare said that the lounge's after-hours operation has led to increased crimes around the location.
Anyone with information on the identity of the three men or in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
