Fort Bend County Sheriffs Office Arrests Man For Issuing Fake CPR Certifications In Cinco Ranch

Sheriff’s detectives reportedly learned that “the suspect had been issuing fraudulent CPR certifications in which no training was actually provided. The suspect was using the name of a local medical professional who has no affiliation with the bogus company issuing the cards.”

Because of the investigation, detectives posed as “prospective clients of the bogus business were issued certifications without any training.”

“In the age of healthcare fraud, this type of crime can happen anywhere including Fort Bend,” Sheriff Eric Fagan said in a news release. “We urge the public to protect themselves from being a victim and be aware of healthcare-related certification and insurance fraud. It could save countless lives and businesses.”

After posing as potential clients and receiving fraudulent certifications, detectives arrested Ubadire Sampson Anosike, 73, and charged him with fraudulent use or possession of identification information, which is a State Jail Felony punishable by up to two years in State Jail and a fine not to exceed $10,000.

Anosike has been released from Fort Bend County Jail after posting a $1,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 15. According to Fort Bend County District Clerk records he has no previous criminal history in the county. According to Harris County District Clerk records, he was charged with a felony in 1981 but that case was dismissed.

Meanwhile, the FBCSO Fraud Unit is cautioning employers who are relying on CPR certifications issued by a company named Flex Medical Services of Katy, Texas, that the certifications may have been fraudulently issued.

“While other legitimate businesses may operate under similar names, employers relying upon such certifications under this name” can contact Detective Jason Bell at 281-341-4633 or via email at to verify this information.
